The ugly face of the western media
Check out these pictures and see how those “free” media fabricate news reports they need. Or, if you prefer an English interpreted version, you might wish to check instead the YouTube clip.

Many westerners like to think that Chinese people are so brain-washed by the Communists and hence their opinions are inevitable biased. I partially agree with such a presumption, because indeed due to the lack of information from the outside world, most of my fellow Chinese do not have the opportunities of seeing the ugly side of the western society. Therefore they tend to bear a too naive and innocent mind and many still believe the fairytale that once China embraces the western style democracy, truth will come out from every corner, justice will prevail and all the social problems would be solved.
I, for one, had such an innocent mind many years ago. Just after 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown, I rushed to get myself a radio set with a short-wave reception. During the nights, we would carefully tune the frequency with great efforts to locate the broadcasting from the Voice of America. We would listen to it carefully, and because, it was the voice of America, where liberty and justice lived, we swore that it must be telling us all the truth and but the truth.
Many years of living in the US and Canada, rather than strengthening my belief, turned me into a complete opposite direction. Starting with little confusions, then some more doubts on the accuracies, I gradually became skeptical about the true motivation behind the false reports, until finally I was convinced that those people are liars presenting biased stories intentionally. The conviction is reached solely based on what they say in the west and what I experience and see in the east. In fact I am no exception, and my little personal transition is a common phenomenon among the Chinese oversea. Sadly when it comes to anything related to China, freedom of speech in the west is of no use, because the westerners are literally living in their confined world isolated by the Language barrier. The vast majority of them read English only. Surely Chinese media is not much better. But over the years, I’ve witnessed their constant improvements in my different aspects. Relatively, the western media continuing spreading the same old rumors about China just made it more and more frustrating or even disgusting to me.
Having seen so many lies told by the western media, I became much aware of their very fine tricks of twisting and fabricating the news, and you have to admit that they are very skillful experts, much better than the stupid state-run Chinese media which never managed to fool me, even when they were actually right. In the west, disregarding whatever the fact is, they stories can always be cooked up to appeal the main stream listeners, or probably more true, the interest groups manipulating everything behind the scene, and yet they manage to add a bit salt with a fine taste of honesty and criticism to keep themselves at the high moral stand.
Being quite experienced on spotting those fine and admirable tricks, I can’t help feeling insulted by such simple, plain, so low-tech fake informations provided by the prestigious news media shown above. Hey, that’s even worse than the Communists! Really unbelievable. Can those be just innocent mistakes? Don’t think so! It’s clearer than ever that these organizations have their propaganda well planned out and they very firmly stick to it. Whatever Chinese government would do, they were determined to slander and to attack. After all they have very little choice on their own, as only by doing so they could win the satisfactions from their boss, their company, and their audience in general. Really the moral standard of these so called journalists is no better than that of the prostitutes. Shame on them whining about China not allowing them to freely report the incident. Giving them any freedom makes no difference. Their drafts were probably completed long before they even witnessed anything.
Surely I am not attacking any individual westerner. Many of them are my true friends. And I certainly do enjoy the individual freedom in the west too. But as long as the lies continue spreading mutual misunderstanding will continue to grow. The outcome will certainly be unpleasant, for both sides.

I guess Nepalmust be part of China in the Deutsch and American world map.
